Shola Adekoya is one of Nigeria’s leading garden landscape designers, his modern designs demonstrates a fusion of traditional materials and contemporary styling and have become known for their timeless architectural qualities and innovative planning. His works which spans over three decades are frequently seen all around the states, homes, cooperate organizations and large country estates all over the country.
Shola Adekoya has won many awards which includes merit award by National Association of Botany (2001 & 2003), award of recognition by education youth and service (2003), environmental champion (an award of recognition on the beautification of Lagos state) by Nigeria art group. He is also a member of The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea/ London, Botanical garden conservation, Africa botanical congress (South Africa), Nigeria institute of landscape horticulture, Nigeria conservation foundation, Nature protection and environment improvement initiatives. He is one of the leading conservationists in Nigeria. While he has donated over 2 million trees, also he vowed to plant 20 million trees in his life time. His creative works can be trace back to Maathai Wangari of Kenya and Alan Titchmarch who are his mentors.
